XR Stories is supporting The Riptide, a Leeds-based immersive theatre company, to develop a large-scale immersive and interactive virtual reality theatre experience that will be enhanced by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The project, Intermission, is centred around self-reflection, health, and mental wellbeing. With input from professionally trained therapists, life coaches and masseuses, Intermission will offer a mesmerising and therapeutic experience for audience members.
Intermission is one of four projects awarded research and development funding from the XR Demonstrators programme. The programme aims to explore how eXtended Reality technologies can be used to reach new audiences and support growth across Museums, Galleries, Libraries, Music, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts.
