XR Stories helps students at the University of York to build their knowledge and experience in working with and developing XR technologies. We provide opportunities for students to connect with industry and gain hands-on experience, inspiring the next generation of future technology-led content creators, makers and researchers.
Internships
XR Stories supports internships to enable University of York students to gain valuable experience working in industry, backed by support from the XR Stories team. We work with the University’s York Internship programme to facilitate connections between creative businesses and students.
The York Internship programme offers students a paid placement of up to 12 weeks to work on a creative project with an industry partner.

Year in Enterprise
As a partner on the University of York’s Year in Enterprise programme, XR Stories provides a workspace, access to specialist equipment and training sessions aimed at students looking to start their own business in the immersive sector.

Additional support
XR Stories works closely with the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology and the School of Arts and Creative Technologies at the University of York, providing facilities and expertise to help students integrate XR technologies such as virtual reality and motion capture into their major research projects.
We also have close links with the University of York Creativity Lab, a facility for staff and students to access training in digital technology and hire equipment including VR headsets, cameras, podcast mics, headphones and mixing decks.
