XR Stories is a University of York project providing expertise and facilities to help businesses, creative practitioners and researchers working in extended reality (XR) and next generation convergent media technologies unleash their full potential.
From a state-of-the-art immersive technology lab in the heart of York, XR Stories helps to advance research activities, accelerate student outputs, and propel innovation and growth in the creative and digital sectors, for the York and North Yorkshire region and extending to the whole of the UK.
The XR Stories team supports the development of new experiences, facilitates new ways of working, and creates new opportunities via the following support and services:
- Specialist support and expertise: Creative technicians, producers, researchers and innovation facilitators
- Research and development residencies, IP development and facilities hire
- Creative and digital technology skills training
- Creative Industries research to guide policy, innovation and investment
XR Stories also leads and delivers XR Network+, a project to establish the UK’s digital economy research agenda for content creation and consumption in virtual production and related technologies.
