Into-Visible: Exploring gender inequality in VR

Project partners: BRiGHTBLACK

XR Stories partnered with BRiGHTBLACK to deliver training and mentoring for six projects commissioned as part of the Storylab work.

Jin Craven, a creative producer and documentary filmmaker based in Leeds, created Into-Visible, an open-world interactive game as part of Storylabs.

Built with Unity Games Engine and Playmaker visual scripting, Into-Visible focuses on exploring gender inequality and financial independence through a branching narrative VR experience.

Jin created a scenario-driven story, set on a chance-based virtual board, where the user has the ability to see the cause and effect of actions which, in turn, shape the financial stability and freedom of the female protagonist.

The prototype engages and empowers audiences to push for systemic change, raising awareness of the disparity in financial freedom between women and men.
