OpenXR was a funding call for SMEs in the Yorkshire and Humber region in Spring 2021 to deliver research and development (R&D) projects that focus on prototype immersive and interactive story experiences or storytelling tools and platforms. Applicants could bid for up to £30,000, as well as access funded internships to support with projects.

Projects funded through this call include:

• Using extended-reality to enhance live ballet performances
• Flood: Combining XR technologies with immersive storytelling
• The Tell-Tale Rooms: Exploring virtual rooms using CGI and 360° VR
• Monoliths: Exploring outdoor locations in VR
• Personasmith: An interactive game about counterfeit and forgery
• Grains of Recollection: A Unique VR Experience
• The Burning Room: A Comedy-Horror VR Experience
