XR Stories is delighted to launch a new internship scheme which offers companies in Yorkshire and the Humber the opportunity to engage with talented and committed students and graduates from universities across the region, as well as providing up to 100% of the funding for the projects.
Internships are short, professional, paid work experience opportunities that have driven career development in young people over the last 20-30 years, and are now commonplace on an engaged student’s CV. They offer employers the opportunity to create a talent pipeline for the future, building sustainable relationships and partnerships with young people that can develop over time.
If you represent an SME business in the region and wish to apply for the XR Stories internship scheme, please identify a project that an intern could undertake. The proposed project should be a challenging and rewarding piece of work, focusing on immersive and interactive technologies, that can be completed in under 12 weeks.
To be eligible for this scheme, businesses must be registered in the UK and be based in Yorkshire and the Humber. Businesses must have fewer than 250 FTE (or equivalent) employees and a turnover of less than £50 million.
SMEs who meet the eligibility criteria for the scheme are invited to apply for funding to support the growth and development of extended reality projects in their businesses. This funding is available to businesses in all screen industry sectors, including film, TV, gaming, animation and other digital media agencies. Applications will open 1 July, and close 31 December 2020. Internships funded in this round must be concluded by the end of March 2021.
