In Here Out There

Project partners: Live Cinema, Michaela French

Leeds-based Live Cinema and fulldome artist, Michaela French, have created a sensory wearable device capable of capturing breath data which translates into a real-time immersive experience.

In Here Out There is an immersive dome experience that explores our ecological connection with nature and the impact that humans have on the environment.

Using a hardware device to monitor participants’ breathing, the project allows the user to guide the narrative using wearable technology, heightening involvement in the immersive experience.

In Here Out There is one of three projects supported through the XR Stories Climate Change Challenge, a funding call for Yorkshire and Humber based-SMEs to explore how immersive storytelling and technology can be used to address key climate change topics and shape the climate change narrative.

XR Stories provided each project with research and development funding, access to a creative producer and the opportunity to use the XR Stories media lab facilities and technology at the York Guildhall.
