XR Stories welcomes new creatives in residence

Kirk Barley and Daniel Brown will join the XR Stories team in The Guildhall, York to progress the research and development (R&D) phase of their respective projects.

Kirk Barley is Yorkshire-born composer, producer and sound artist, also known for his earlier work as Bambooman and as one half of Church Andrews & Matt Davies. Kirk’s project will explore new approaches to spatial audio composition and live performance.

Daniel Brown is a creative technologist specialising in projection mapping, virtual reality (VR), interactive installations and immersive media. Daniel’s project will develop and test a VR and music-building experience called Shared Wavelength.

Both Daniel and Kirk will utilise the XR Stories immersive R&D lab and specialist technical expertise to develop and test prototype experiences and systems. Find out more about the residency projects:
