XR Stories submits evidence to the Women in Tech Taskforce

A new report presents written evidence from XR Stories and XR Network+ submitted to the Women in Tech Taskforce.

Established in December 2025, the Taskforce is a new, national effort to ensure women can enter, thrive, and lead across the UK’s tech sector.

The Taskforce will advise government on how to better support diversity in tech and ensure the UK accesses the full talent pool, market opportunities, and innovation capacity needed for economic growth.

The report presents information in response to select questions from the Taskforce on topics including changes in skills requirements as a result of emerging technologies, and what stage women and people from under-represented groups need support to enter, stay and progress within the sector.

The report draws on evidence from XR Stories’ former sister project, the Screen Industries Growth Network and from an EDI audit of the XR Network+ funding cycle and associated research on designing more inclusive funding calls.

The submission forms part of XR Stories’ ongoing activities to help shape a creative technology sector where a wider range of people can access the opportunities that extended reality (XR) technologies and experiences can bring.
