XR Stories launches residency programme

XR Stories has launched a new residency programme that provides opportunities for researchers and creative businesses to work on projects using extended reality technologies in a space outside of their usual environment.

Successful applicants will become residents in the XR Stories immersive technology lab, using the project’s facilities and state-of-the-art technology as their own workspace to incubate new ideas and carry out productive research and development (R&D).

The lab is designed as a place of creative experimentation and collaboration with a range of technologies including cinema quality cameras, an optical motion tracking system, 3D scanning equipment, and flexible immersive audio provision centered around an LED wall and virtual production test stage.

Residency places are available to individuals or project teams in July, August and September 2024. Successful applicants will have up to five day’s worth of focused R&D time to make demonstrable progress in their project, with support from the XR Stories team.

Applications for our summer 2024 residency programme have now closed. Information about future residency programmes will be published here and on the XR Stories Twitter/X and LinkedIn feeds.
