XR Stories launches R&D residences for University of York researchers and technicians

XR Stories has opened applications for its research and development (R&D) residency programme for University of York researchers and technicians. 

The programme provides an opportunity for research and technical staff at the University to use XR Stories’ immersive technology R&D lab and office to enhance existing research and technical activities.

Successful applicants will become part-time residents in the XR Stories R&D lab where they will have access to a range of state-of-the-art equipment spanning five key areas of extended reality (XR):

  • Virtual production.
  • Virtual characters and performance capture.
  • Virtual archiving.
  • Virtual reality.
  • Spatial audio technology.

This latest initiative builds on activities undertaken by the XR Stories team during the last year to foster innovation and create new opportunities for researchers, companies and creative practitioners working in XR technologies.
