XR Stories launches new XR Demonstrators programme

XR Stories has launched a new demonstrators programme to explore the use of eXtended Reality (XR) technologies across the following sectors of the Creative Industries in Yorkshire and the Humber:

  • Museums, Galleries and Libraries
  • Music, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts

The programme will award grants of up to £20,000 per project to businesses or organisations that are in, or working with these sectors. The successful applicants will partner with XR Stories to explore the use of eXtended Reality technologies to develop new immersive or interactive experiences.

Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the XR Demonstrators programme will develop innovative and commercially viable XR story experiences.

With a remit to build engagement with new sectors of the creative industries, the programme presents an opportunity for eligible businesses and organisations to reach new audiences and for the sectors to access leading research, development and industry expertise.

The projects will also explore how XR technologies can be used to support growth in the sectors where new forms of technology-mediated content are already transforming audience experiences.
