XR Stories at the UNESCO City of Media Arts EXPO

From 7 – 9 November 2024, XR Stories represented the University of York at the UNESCO City of Media Arts Expo in The Guildhall, York.

The Expo was the first of its kind in the city and featured as part of the Aesthetica Short Film Festival, where XR Stories also ran the Virtual Reality lab.

The event provided an opportunity to connect with different communities from York, North Yorkshire and other parts of the UK. Visitors included secondary school children, college students, members of the public and creative practitioners.

The XR Stories stand featured alongside 14 York-based companies and creatives working across virtual production, visual effects, film and TV, interactive design and gaming.

Fellow exhibitors including Pilot Theatre, Last Maps, AY-PE and Button Down Productions have all received research and development funding, expertise and facilities support from XR Stories.
