New climate change R&D funding call open

XR Stories’ new funding call offers creative businesses the opportunity to produce an immersive storytelling project on the theme of climate change.

The Climate Change Challenge will award £25,000 each to three SMEs, based in Yorkshire and the Humber. The awarded projects will explore how immersive storytelling and technology can be used to address key climate change topics.

Immersive storytelling is playing a defining role in shaping the climate change narrative. Recent examples include the BBC Green Planet AR experience, Hypha VR and the UN -’Experience your own carbon footprint’ VR project.

The projects we commission will push new boundaries in XR storytelling, challenging perceptions and driving behavioural change. The SMEs will be supported by our R&D team in delivering their projects by October 2022.
