Creative Economy Census

XR Stories and XR Network+ are partnering with the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority to run a Creative Economy Census.

The census aims to gather insights from individuals and businesses who work in the York and North Yorkshire creative industries to support the development of a region-wide sector strategy.

The census takes the form of a 20 minute survey and is aimed at anyone whose profession involves creativity. This can include:

  • Architects, artists, designers
  • Advertising & marketing pros
  • Film, TV, radio, photography and videography professionals
  • Publishers
  • IT software creators, coders and game developers
  • Museum curators, library archivists
  • Musicians and performing artists

Survey responses will inform plans for future funding and support for people working in York and North Yorkshire to drive growth across the region’s creative industries.

The survey is open until Sunday 10 August 2025.
