Addressing the gender balance: new Immersive Digital Accelerator scheme launches

XR Stories launches a free eight-week training programme exclusively for women, marginalised genders and those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, with industry partners BRiGHTBLACK.

According to statistics from DCMS, the creative economy employs a lower proportion of women than the wider UK economy with 37.1% of jobs in the creative industries filled by women compared to 46.9% across other sectors in the UK. XR Stories will help address this gap by recruiting diverse and exciting talent to the new scheme.

Our Immersive Digital Accelerator scheme will help participants understand how to make engaging and compelling immersive storytelling experiences. The programme will include training in the latest software and design frameworks for extended reality (XR) storytelling.

The programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and will only be open to eligible individuals registered as sole traders or SMEs in the Leeds City Region.
