XR Stories at the Aesthetica Film Festival

XR Stories projects and expertise will feature at the Aesthetica Film Festival taking place in York from 8 – 12 November 2023. 

On 9 November XR Stories and Viridian FX will host a Virtual Production (VP) workshop where participants can learn about the creative opportunities of cutting-edge VP technologies and delve into core VP concepts and tools. ‘From Concept to Screen: A Production Demonstration and Collaborative Conversation’ will provide attendees with hands-on experience in merging physical and virtual elements. On 12 November the XR Stories team will host their acclaimed Toy Stories workshop where children can bring their favourite toys to life on screen! Participants will have the opportunity to craft their own story, direct a motion capture actor and watch a screening with their toy as a fully animated film star. Companies and creatives supported by XR Stories during the last year will also showcase their work at the festival. The Abandoned Library will feature as part of the festival’s VR strand and video games by current and former XR Stories interns, Margo Ng and Elliot Mann, will feature as part of the Games Lab strand.
