XR Stories presents ‘Green Screens: Environmental Sustainability and XR Storytelling’

On 27 January 2023, the ‘Green Screens: Environmental Sustainability and XR Storytelling’ event will take place at the York Guildhall.

The event will showcase three XR Stories-funded projects that use immersive storytelling to challenge perceptions and drive behavioural change in relation to climate change. Created and produced by Yorkshire and Humber-based SMEs as part of the XR Stories Climate Change Challenge funding call, the projects explore how eXtended Reality (XR) technology can be used to address key climate change topics.

Tackling a range of subjects, from the hidden pollution of digital consumption to the impacts of flooding, the projects use immersive and interactive experiences to place audiences in virtual, augmented and live scenarios. Attendees are invited to participate in audience evaluation of the experiences to provide valuable insights into the impact of each project.

The Green Screens event will also feature presentations from academics and researchers on their work around the theme of environmental sustainability in the creative industries.
